Real estate is one of the most interesting, potentially lucrative and potentially problematic investments available. You can make a ton of money, or lose your shirt. In my time trying to learn more about investment real estate I’ve looked for a personal blog that describes what real estate investing is all about. There are a lot of self-promotional Web sites, for sure, and there are a lot of sites that really make you question whether you want to be in the same field as the authors, but I haven’t found a site that describes what it’s like for an investor, on a day-to-day basis.

That’s what this blog is about. My wife and I talk about the properties we own, the deals we look at, and the things we learn along the way. It’s honest. You’ll read about our mistakes as well as our successes. And, it’s in real time. We’ll tell you when we buy a new piece of property and we’ll tell you what we did to get through each step. Not to be too megalomaniacal, but what if you could have read daily updates from someone like Sam Zell or Donald Trump when they were just starting off? That’s the niche that we’re going to fill.
